This is from a collection of folklore compiled by schoolchildren in Ireland in the 1930s. Ballincurry is the Townland that my grandmother was born and raised in.
I am a “sometime” family historian with roots back to Ireland. This is a place to share my stories and invite you to share yours.
My maternal roots all lead back to the vicinity around Tubbercurry and Charlestown in Sligo, Mayo, and Roscommon counties.
My direct paternal line, as I have recently learned, leads back to Dublin.
